the role holder is responsible for generating revenue through new to bank (ntb) or new to global trade and receivables finance (gtrf) (ntt) clients in close partnership with the sales and coverage teams of wholesale banking. They evaluate client portfolios, find and assess an opportunity within the marketplace, and match the opportunity with the structured trade solution set to deliver against the client need. They also develop new revenue streams by actively identifying new opportunities across industry sectors and client segments, by providing thought leadership and building a concept into reality. This will include responsibility for structuring, pricing, implementing and delivering the rf mandates to ensure they add value to the bank’s client relationships.
Principal accountabilities and responsibilities
- drive growth of receivable finance solutions business as part of gtrfs key growth strategy with specific focus on lc/mme names that sell to large buyers.
- drive highly technical structured trade conversations with clients including defining the best structuring for no-recourse transaction (lrrf) whereby we need to hire an insurer (either tci or bancomext as mexican eca)
- work closely with wholesale banking grbs and global trade and receivables finance (gtrf) bdms to drive rf penetrations across sector clients at the hq / regional hq level
- where appropriate undertake professional presentations to customers in support of potential opportunities portraying hsbc in the best possible light against a backdrop of competition from local and/or global banks
- planning the development of new sector solutions / propositions alongside global product & propositions
- replicate lrrf / rrf solutions across multinational sites by driving in-country sales and solution structuring
- develop structured trade solutions, lead global strategic initiatives and multi-regional client opportunities for key clients
- lead operating rhythm globally including client and deal reviews, pipeline, returns, portfolio, performance dashboards for the structured trade finance portfolio
- partner with marketing and communications for internal and external thought leadership content
- support the development of key initiatives and related business cases.
- represent structured trade across global businesses or functions and other global stakeholders
- ensure best practices sharing among regional teams.
Requirements
- relevant product knowledge of global trade & receivable finance.
- past working experience (>3 years) in a similar role, i.e. Product management / gtrf sales
- strong understanding of all end-to end aspects related to gtrf product, i.e risk, operations, legal, compliance, etc.
- a desire to find ways to continually improve the service delivered to customers
- a flexible and adaptable approach to change and will support others to respond in a similar way
- experience of supporting others' performance, enabling them to achieve by providing clear direction, motivation and support
- both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered
- proven ability to build successful working relationships with key internal stakeholders - e.g. Risk, operations, fcc, etc.
