The onsite medical representative (omr) will serve as the site’s medical representative in the fc. The omr will provide functions such as: providing first aid treatment to injured employees, proactively analyzing tasks for potential safety issues, participating in the workers’ compensation process, and implementing a site wellness program.
key job responsibilities
1. provide triage, first aid, and/or referral to outside medical providers, if indicated.
2. maintain all records of treatment given to associates.
3. maintain first-aid kits, inventory supplies, restock, and clean equipment used in the care of associates.
4. contact treating physicians as necessary to schedule appointments and arrange further treatment.
5. train managers and associate volunteers in first aid, cpr, aed, and blood borne pathogen training.
6. provide daily activity logs to the safety and senior leadership team.
7. analyze all incidents on a monthly basis.
8. participate in weekly site case management review meetings with hr, risk management, and safety.
9. participate in incident investigations as needed.
10. develop physical demands assessments for every task.
11. attend weekly associate safety committee meetings.
12. evaluate stretching programs and assist safety with tailored stretching initiatives, possibly coordinating with the off-site medical provider’s physical therapy department.
13. attend and speak at “start-up” meetings.
14. greet all new hires, either through one-on-one interactions or during group orientation sessions.
15. be actively involved with site kaizens.
16. learn each job function within the facility to understand the body mechanics involved.
17. spend frequent time on the floor interacting with associates and managers.
18. help coordinate an onsite annual health fair.
19. understand each department’s functions and communicate proper techniques to prevent ctds.
20. obtain tdr certification to have full access to the truck yard.
basic qualifications
* high school diploma or equivalent.
* cpr certification.
* valid card evidencing successful completion of a first aid, cpr, and aed course from the american heart association or american red cross, or willingness to obtain it within four weeks of employment.
* knowledge of microsoft office applications.
preferred qualifications
* experience with workers' compensation.
* experience and certification in teaching first aid, cpr, and aed.
