Overview
eaton’s es amer ars division is currently seeking a project manager. This position is responsible for the management and successful execution of the plant projects portfolio (stp, npi, vave) and leads the prolaunch opa category as plant champion. The pm manages all stages for the project from initiation, strategy, planning, execution, validation, launch, and closure. This includes requirements changes, risk mitigation, and issue tracking/resolution. The role reports to the program manager and is accountable for the oversight of cross-functional activities, managing shared resources across multiple projects and functions to drive on-time industrialization and project execution.
responsibilities
* leads a cross-functional team on project planning and execution aligned to scope, schedule, cost, resources, and quality requirements. Works with other plant and divisional-level departments (e.g., manufacturing, quality, supply chain, marketing, ehs, facilities, pls, finance, hr, it, suppliers, etc.) following prolaunch standard.
* leads risk management for the project, proactively identifying risks and implementing appropriate risk responses to achieve project targets.
* ensures standard program management processes are utilized and provides support to the team by coordinating pm reviews, and by preparing and publishing pm metrics and project reports.
* develops and monitors detailed project schedule/plan to track progress and milestone achievement.
* ensures the team follows the prolaunch standard, including activity matrix deliverables, and leads the team during stages and gate reviews.
* creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation as part of the repository.
* works with key suppliers impacting the project to drive schedule attainment and action tracking to remove roadblocks for execution.
* demonstrates financial acumen to complete required capital appropriation requests for the project in alignment with finance.
* communicates and provides periodic project status reports and escalations to project stakeholders per the project communications plan.
* understands project impact to the business and identifies the impact of project changes on other projects within the plant.
* drives the implementation of company standard tools to improve program management performance at the site; monitors compliance with engineering standards, company policies, and procedures (pm coe).
* deploys opa prolaunch category requirements and works on action plans to continuously improve the plant level. Acts as opa prolaunch champion.
* establishes objectives and goals, and provides direction to project teams in areas of customer needs, potential scope changes, and risk assessment.
* completes other duties as assigned.
qualifications
* education: bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution (or equivalent). Master’s degree preferred.
* experience: minimum of 5 years of program management leadership within a complex matrix organization.
* experience with microsoft project (minimum 5 years) and with project management methodology (eaton prolaunch, pmi).
* bilingual english/spanish.
* technical knowledge relevant to the role.
* pmi accreditation (pmp) preferred; agile training or certification.
* experience with new product introduction (npi) and product transitions (stp); product lifecycle knowledge.
* ms project proficiency for project scheduling; experience in plant start-up (preferred).
* experience with load center and metering products (preferred).
