Eaton’s corporate sector division is currently seeking a regional category manager mechanical assemblies & stampings for the electrical sector north america.
what you’ll do
our supply chain management team creates bottom‑line impact by driving cost management and operational benefits. This role leads the development and deployment of the regional category strategy for mechanical assemblies, supports critical initiatives and special projects, and manages key vendor relationships for stampings.
job summary
drive toward optimal conditions (cost, commercial, working capital, quality, delivery, resiliency, innovation, vave) for both businesses in the assigned categories by leveraging synergies and implementing the “one supply chain” philosophy.
job responsibilities
* support development of and deploy strategic initiatives to facilitate cross‑business synergies with global and regional preferred supplier partners.
* negotiate and manage key strategic supplier contracts and relationships.
* review, approve, monitor, and report compliance to category agreements and strategies in line with eaton scm directions.
* lead development and execution of sourcing strategies for approximately $20 m spend of mechanical assemblies and $10‑15 m spend of stampings (under guidance from na stampings category manager).
* plan, prepare, and execute annual profit planning for the owned spend, supporting execution with cross‑functional teams.
* lead supplier business reviews with strategic suppliers annually.
* identify potential financial and operational threats; develop and deploy proactive supplier risk mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity.
* facilitate the cross‑functional team in effectively managing financially distressed supplier situations with high visibility to senior leadership.
* support stamping sourcing activities in mexico.
education level required
* bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or business administration from an accredited institution.
preferred qualifications
* professional supply‑chain related certification (e.g., cpm, cpim).
* mba or master’s degree in supply chain from an accredited institution.
years and area of experience required
* minimum 2 years of professional experience in procurement or a minimum of 3 years in supply chain or operations.
* no relocation benefit is being offered for this position.
preferred experience
* 2‑3 years of professional negotiating experience in a global business environment.
* 2‑3 years of professional experience with accountability across multiple manufacturing facilities.
technical knowledge
* knowledge of stampings/sheet metal/assembly processes and industry trends.
* experience deploying category strategies and driving cost‑out.
* creative thinking to produce new approaches and implement emerging tools.
* experience facilitating cross‑functional teams in high‑visibility projects.
soft skills
* communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills for senior management, suppliers, operations, and scm personnel.
