We are seeking a senior finance leader to join as operational country controller – mexico, a critical role that partners closely with local and global leadership to drive financial excellence, operational discipline, and strategic decision-making. This role requires proven experience in mlm / direct selling and strong exposure to multinational, matrixed environments. Role overview the operational country controller will be responsible for the full financial leadership of the mexican operation, ensuring accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with ifrs and local regulations. This position acts as a true business partner to the general manager and executive team, supporting growth, profitability, and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities act as a strategic finance partner to the gm, global vp of finance, and global corporate controller serve as the financial conscience of the operation, advising leadership on performance, risks, and opportunities lead and develop the accounting & finance team in mexico, fostering a culture of accuracy, urgency, and service ensure integrity of financial statements, general ledger, and internal reporting (local and hq) oversee monthly close, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial commentary prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, budgets, and rolling forecasts deliver accurate and timely hq reporting, ensuring transparency and data integrity manage accounts payable processes, including po validation, invoice compliance, and payment coordination with hq ensure full ifrs compliance and alignment with corporate accounting policies coordinate with outsourced providers to ensure compliance with mexican federal and fiscal regulations lead local reconciliation between financial statements and tax reports in coordination with the local tax director identify cost-saving opportunities, margin improvement initiatives, and operational efficiencies strengthen internal controls, accounting processes, and statutory compliance maintain strict confidentiality of financial information and business plans requirements education bachelor's degree in accounting (required) cpa or equivalent certification (strong plus) additional studies in finance, management, tax, legal, or information systems are highly valued experience 5+ years in a senior accounting / financial control role minimum 2 years of experience in multi-level marketing / direct selling (required) strong background in financial reporting, accounting, and business partnering experience in multinational, matrix organizations solid knowledge of ifrs and financial analysis prior exposure to international reporting or corporate environments is a plus skills & competencies strategic thinker with strong attention to detail hands-on, proactive, and results-oriented strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-demand environment advanced excel skills (pivot tables, power query, formulas) experience with erp systems (sage/accpac and concur are strong assets) strong leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills languages fluent spanish and english (required) french is a plus
