This position will lead and manage a team of professional accountants who provide effective financial control systems and financial analyses which meet brazeway's quality definition. Develop, implement, monitor, and constantly improve financial control systems to ensure that the company's assets are adequately controlled, protected, and deployed.
manage brazeway mexico's accounting functions, which includes:
disbursement cycle (account coding, invoice matching, a/p, disbursements).
inventory accounting, including maintenance of appropriate standard cost accounting records.
financial reporting cycle (monthly closing, financial reports, reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts).
assist the brazeway mexico plant management team in developing strategic and operating plans; be a key member of the plant leadership team that is actively helping improve plant financial performance.
employ the best technology for providing accurate, timely and innovative financial performance information for decision-making.
support efforts for the development of quarterly forecasts and the annual plan along with other forecasts as required. Lead the processes for bmex operations and coordinate with the corporate office.
cash management.
support of corporate accounting initiatives.
maintain cost savings for bmex projects to support corporate cost-saving obligations.
maintain relationships with outsourced suppliers and customers.
manage legal requirements related to the business structure of brazeway mexico
manage the external audit, transfer price audit, tax returns, financial reporting and various legal audits (as they occur) required by the mexican government. Stay up to date on new financial regulations and suggest changes to improve our cost structure related to taxes and governmental financial regulations.
ensure that training needs for yourself and your team are correctly identified and acted upon in a timely manner.
exhibit a high level of understanding and competency utilizing the company's erp system.
what a candidate must have to be qualified for the role:
~ bachelor's degree in accounting
~experience in the controllers function of a manufacturing company
~ bilingual: english and spanish proficiency
~ candidates must currently reside in the metropolitan area of nuevo león and demonstrate the ability to commute easily to the plant (located in ciénega de flores)
~ understanding of mexico tax, import/export, payroll and other tax compliance issues
~ strong sense of urgency, attention to detail and a proven track record of timely project completion
