Data analyst responsibilities:
- data flows: monitor, review, and enhance the data collection processes in the firm.
- data accuracy & integrity: setting and monitoring the appliance of the required rules to ensure the accuracy of the data collected firm-wide.
- prepare reports and dashboards on different apps the company uses (insightly, power bi, quickbooks, etc)
- predictive analytics: use ml algorithms to predict trends in tax laws and customer behavior.
- advanced-data modeling: create complex models that simulate various business scenarios, including tax strategy outcomes.
- interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
- develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
- acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
- identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
- work with management to prioritize business and information needs
- locate and define new process improvement opportunities
- work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, customer ,bookkeeping,tax and etc. to support and to creatively answer unstructured business questions and harness the predictive power of the results.
- the pivotal part of this role is to ensure that the “data analyst” thrives for the team and the manager/hod.
Data analyst requirements:
technical:
- degree: master’s in data science, computer science, or a closely related field.
- software skills: strong skills in python, r, azure ml, tensorflow, or other machine learning frameworks.
- experience: at least 3-5 years of experience with ml/ai in a business context.
Qualifications:
- ml/ai certifications: desirable but not mandatory.
- business acumen: understanding of operations in a consulting environment.
- knowledge of finance industry terminology and concepts ( huge plus )
- hands-on experience with data profiling, analysis tools, techniques and visualization technologies
- you love and have a deep passion for understanding data and how the business works
- you are a self-starter with an ability to engage deeply with a stellar technical team
