main responsibilities
* supplier audits and evaluation: conduct audits to verify that suppliers comply with established processes and quality standards.
* quality management: develop and implement quality control procedures and plans, including process validation and approval of production part approval packages (ppap).
* problem solving: investigate root causes of quality issues, generate and follow up on corrective actions (e.g., using the 8d methodology), and participate in decisions regarding non-conforming materials.
* coordination: serve as the main liaison for quality matters between the company, suppliers, customers, and sister plants.
* monitoring and reporting: track supplier performance through key metrics and communicate results to internal and external teams.
* continuous improvement: work on improving existing quality processes and developing new tools and capabilities.
* internal support: provide support to production operations and product development teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
skills and qualifications
* strong knowledge of quality management and management systems.
* experience with problem-solving tools such as 8d, dmaic, and root cause analysis.
* ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
* knowledge of methodologies such as lean manufacturing and process validation.
* strong communication, teamwork, and negotiation skills.
* proficiency in computer tools such as ms office.
* bachelor's degree in engineering; master's degree in a related field preferred.
* bilingual spanish–english.
