about the role
our client, a global tier-1 automotive supplier, is seeking a senior hr manager to lead the human resources function across two integrated production plants in saltillo, mexico. The ideal candidate will be an experienced hr leader, capable of driving people strategy in a high-pressure environment while managing key areas such as recruitment, succession planning, employee relations, and union negotiations.
key responsibilities
* lead the hr function across both production units (approx. 350 employees total).
* drive strategic initiatives in recruitment, retention, and talent development.
* foster strong employee engagement and support internal communication during a period of organizational transformation.
* manage relationships with unions and lead labor negotiations in compliance with local labor laws.
* partner with plant leadership to align hr practices with business goals.
* oversee hr budget and ensure accurate reporting of payroll, benefits, and compliance metrics.
* act as a key liaison between local operations and global hr stakeholders.
requirements
1. bachelor’s degree in hr, business administration, or related fields (master’s preferred).
2. minimum 8 years of hr experience, with at least 3 in a managerial role within automotive or manufacturing environments.
3. strong understanding of mexican labor law and unionized settings.
4. demonstrated success in succession planning, talent management, and employee relations.
5. ability to work independently, make sound decisions under pressure, and lead through change.
6. bilingual in spanish and english is a must.
7. located in or willing to relocate to saltillo. Candidates from monterrey or ramos considered.
