The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for the mechanical development of ipc compliant circuit card assemblies used in electric power steering (eps) systems. The candidate will receive design inputs including electrical schematics, packaging envelopes, operating environment and performance requirements. Using the design inputs, the candidate will work with cad personnel to generate a pcb layout and circuit card assembly that meets customer requirements. This position will interface with cross-functional teams including mcad, ecad, electrical circuit design, motors, systems, program management, manufacturing and purchasing. The candidate will be involved in the product life cycle from concept development to production.
major job responsibilities
* develop ipc compliant circuit card assemblies that meet customer packaging and performance requirements including controller assemblies, motor position sensor boards and torque and position sensors
* develop application specific header connectors
* create and maintain product drawings, specifications and bill of materials utilizing change control processes
* coordinate mechanical stress analysis of circuit card assemblies including fea and component testing
* coordinate thermal computational fluid dynamic (cfd) simulations for electrical components, circuit card assemblies and motor-controller subassemblies including component and system testing.
* utilize dfmea and dss processes to ensure component and system level quality.
* support program specific product development teams.
* provide technical support to manufacturing plants.

* support development build and test activities.
* support dv/pv testing including root cause analysis of test failures.
