what will you do?
under general direction, responsible for performing complex procurement functions in compliance with jci internal policies. Participate in bids under corporate direction, address supplier issues, and keep metrics for inventory value, turns, escalations, and discrepancies according to goals. Comply with environmental health & safety guidelines and regulations.
how will you do it?
purchase from evaluated suppliers capable of providing materials and services that meet specified requirements. Responsibilities include:
1. procure assigned materials to meet inventory turns, cost, quality, and customer requirements.
2. place purchase orders via optimize, execute maintenance as required (expedite, de-expedite, cancel).
3. analyze optimize shortages report for each vendor.
4. review e&o and follow up to minimize inventory impact.
5. coordinate soi project implementation with mke procurement team.
6. approve premium freight requests.
7. distribute routing guides to vendors and support foreign shipping instructions.
8. respond with etas for planning summarized files (special requests).
9. maintain purchasing parameters (moq, mpu, lt, pricing, auto reply flag, current cost).
10. support initiatives to reduce costs and lead times, consolidate suppliers, and manage inventory programs.
11. implement business moves due to price increases or loss of franchise.
12. issue last-time buy orders for eol items following the process.
13. assist ec coordinator and support vave projects.
14. conduct rfq for new items and one-time buys.
15. approve price variations (ppv) and document reasons.
16. issue mro orders for expedite, tooling, and external services.
17. send jci specifications to suppliers.
18. obtain oto approval from sustaining and follow up on ncnr approvals.
19. participate in meetings, trainings, and supplier calls.
20. resolve invoice discrepancies.
21. review supplier liability inventory periodically.
22. participate in risk assessments, ehs programs, and environmental management.
23. implement security policies and support environmental committees.
24. participate in training, define corrective actions, and control system logs.
25. review procedures for ohsas 18001 & iso 14001 compliance.
26. identify unsafe acts, potential environmental impacts, and report them.
27. contribute to safety, health, and environmental objectives and continuous improvement strategies.
28. attend lean & six sigma training as required.
what we look for?
minimum of 5 years’ experience in purchasing, material planning, or production control. Proficiency in microsoft office (excel), bilingual in english/spanish, sap experience required. Resins & metal mechanics commodities experience preferred. Good communication skills, apics certification desirable. Experience in high-volume manufacturing, lean manufacturing, iso 9001:2000 standards, and a degree in business or equivalent are preferred. Responsible, organized, with a high sense of urgency, able to work independently.
