key responsibilities
* follow princess cruises’ operational methods and seek advice from the galley supervisor when necessary.
* adhere to usphs principles and princess cruises procedures at all times.
* work as part of a cleaning team responsible for consistently cleaning and sanitizing galley equipment and service areas, including pots, pans, and other equipment (most heavy pots in the main galley weigh 30.5 lbs, pastry mixing bowls up to 38.6 lbs, and items up to 71 lbs).
* recycle cooking service equipment before, during, and after service.
* assist with unloading and storing food deliveries (average weight 50-60 lbs).
* participate in scheduled deep cleaning activities in addition to daily cleaning operations.
* handle all equipment with care to prevent damage.
* report equipment defects to the galley supervisor, executive chef, or food manager daily.
* perform duties in compliance with policies, usphs, fleet regulations, and other relevant regulations.
* conduct galley cleaning in accordance with princess cruises’ environmental policies.
* perform all general emergency organization duties as directed.
* demonstrate commitment to the company's values, goals, and initiatives.
* represent the company positively to passengers, officers, and crew.
* maintain professional and effective working relationships, respecting cultural differences.
skills, knowledge & expertise
* at least one year of experience as kitchen steward or dishwasher in large restaurants, hotels, or cruise industry.
* knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices in the food service industry.
* good command of english, both oral and written.
* motivated to excel in job duties and responsibilities.
* personable with strong social skills and a warm personality.
* committed to maintaining courteous and professional relationships in a diverse environment.
