become one of the authors of our story. Join our team as sales manager for etéreo in riviera maya, mexico. This position is based on property. The sales manager is responsible for identifying and sourcing primarily leisure business in accordance with the collection’s strategic plan to maximise room revenue during peak and nonpeak periods. The sales manager reports directly to the director of sales and works closely with the revenue team and the rest of the leisure team to ensure that the sales strategy is in line with property business needs.
* oversee account and production goals in the assigned region.
* support the collection revenue goals by generating leisure business at each hotel.
* organise and schedule direct sales efforts via phone, email and in person. Average of 5 prospecting efforts per day is expected (25 per week).
* evaluate and initiate opportunities for developing new sources of business.
* plan and execute a 12-month strategic business plan.
* play a key role in the development of the hotels’ leisure marketing plan.
* build effective relationships with consortia accounts (amex fhr, virtuoso, traveller made, etc.).
* build effective relationships with luxury travel agents in the assigned territory.
* visit, present and effectively communicate the resorts to the assigned territory.
* support the hotel’s wholesale account strategy.
* support domestic group efforts.
* participate in weekly revenue management calls and scheduled conference calls with area director of sales and property-specific calls as needed.
* accurately maintain and build a sales force database of clients; ensure overall accuracy of the regional database.
* abide by policies and procedures of auberge collection.
* maintain ethical and professional standards of sales service.
* maintain professional appearance and demeanor while representing the company.
* travel and work flexible days and hours.
* keep department heads informed of problems to ensure prompt correction and guest satisfaction.
* provide feedback and goals for preparation of annual sales plans and budgets.
* ensure effective leisure pricing strategies are properly communicated to leisure clients.
* assist director of sales & marketing as needed on corporate initiatives.
* establish initiatives and execute direct sales objectives to promote the auberge collection brand.
* develop regional planning and strategies to increase brand exposure.
* evaluate promotional events, trade shows, community and industry events to ensure roi.
* maintain customer, trade, industry and staff relations.
* assist dosm in training and growth of travel coordinator position.
* target key accounts to host familiarisation trips to increase roi.
* work with tourism organizations to maximize regional opportunities and buying power.
* perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.
qualifications
* minimum 3 years sales experience in a related position in luxury hotel sales environment.
* demonstrated record of driving sales revenues in hotel environment.
* prior experience selling multiple properties or brands.
* prior experience in international hotels/resorts.
* prior experience working with professional organizations that support leisure.
* knowledge of gds, virtuoso.com, amex fhr portal.
* ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence transient business decision makers and influencers.
* ability to research and identify top prospects for growth of an existing account and develop new accounts.
* ability to be self-motivated and achieve goals with minimal direct supervision.
* knowledge of sales procedures associated with the hotel industry.
* excellent written skills sufficient to produce sales and marketing communication.
* strong computer skills (google suite, linkedin, salesforce, social media).
* excellent spoken and presentation skills.
* strong ability to listen effectively.
* ability to work effectively both independently and with a team from a remote sales office.
* ability to present clear, concise, and meaningful information to owners, guests, executives, managers, and employees.
* ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
* ability to sell ideas persuasively and energetically.
* ability to analyze, interpret, and understand financial data.
* ability to maintain a high level of organization.
