Operations director
job summary:
we are seeking an experienced operations director to lead our manufacturing operations. This individual will be responsible for managing complex profit and loss statements, increasing efficiencies, and synergies in efforts to reduce operating expenses.
key responsibilities:
* manage the overall direction and strategy of the manufacturing operation, ensuring alignment with company goals.
* analyze current engineering projects and prioritize them based on business needs.
* evaluate and realign the engineering team to support the company's strategic initiatives.
* work within the new product development process, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.
* develop and implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
* manage staff levels, wages, hours, and contract labor to optimize operational expense budgets.
* foster strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
candidate requirements:
* prior experience as a plant manager or operations director.
* demonstrated ability to manage complex p&ls with multiple facets.
* proven experience in operations management within a manufacturing environment.
* mid-to-high volume manufacturing experience preferred.
* strong skills in continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., lean, six sigma).
* demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively.
* experience in project management with a track record of successful implementation.
* excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff at all levels.
* strategic planning capabilities with a focus on long-term business growth.
* bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
