*essential duties and responsibilities*
- responsible for any of the following accounting operations: import/export, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, taxes, fixed assets and payroll calculations including profit sharing, christmas bonus and other benefits
- manage work prepared and performed by accounting department staff such as transaction processing, journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules and detailed reports
- coordinate the timely month-end and year-end close of the general ledger and related external audits
- prepare and review month-end, year-end and ad hoc financial reporting and analysis for management and external business partners in accordance with applicable generally accepted mexican accounting principles
- manage the timely and accurate completion of all tax filings in mexico, including maquila-related items
- ensure compliance with all relevant mexican regulations
- identify improvement changes regarding key processes for internal controls and accounting procedures
- utilize queries and various reporting tools to provide information to internal and external partners
- create accurate and concise verbal and written communications to internal departments and external business partners about accounting-related information
- maintain secure control of accounting-related documentation such as invoices, journal entries, financial statements
- support corporate tax department in the correct determination of concepts to be declared in the monthly and annual tax
- perform and interpret data analytics to assist in business decisions
- capital management and supply chain management) impact finance in the current erp system and lead efforts to ensure cross functionality is achieved
- lead and coordinate special projects individually or as part of a cross-functional team, ensuring timely decision making and completion
- maintain accurate job aids for all duties assigned
- assist finance director with all financial and tax-related matters
