Job summary:
we are looking for a plant manager responsible for the overall management of an industrial production line for the automotive sector within a manufacturing plant located in querétaro. The candidate will lead production, maintenance, quality, and logistics teams on site, ensuring operational excellence, workforce safety, cost efficiency, and compliance with quality standards and customer delivery requirements.
key responsibilities:
* lead and coordinate the day‑to‑day operations of the production line, guaranteeing the achievement of volume, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
* manage cross‑functional teams in production, maintenance, quality, and logistics, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and teamwork.
* ensure strict adherence to occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations on site, fostering a zero‑incident safety culture.
* oversee the plant’s production budget, control costs, reduce waste, and optimize the use of materials, energy, and human resources.
* supervise the planning and execution of investments, product change‑overs, and process improvements on the production line (including automation or reconfiguration projects).
* work closely with r&d, process engineering, and procurement to introduce new products, validate production lines, and select suppliers.
* analyze and report on key performance indicators (oee, efficiency, rejects, downtime, etc.) and drive action plans for continuous improvement.
* represent the plant with customers, auditors, and regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with sector‑specific and quality standards.
minimum requirements:
* degree in industrial, mechanical, chemical engineering, or related field. A master’s or postgraduate degree in operations management or similar is a plus.
* minimum 8–10 years of experience in continuous or semi‑continuous industrial processes, including at least 4–5 years in plant leadership roles.
* strong knowledge of quality management systems (iso 9001 and iso 14001), industrial safety, environmental regulations, and continuous‑improvement methodologies (lean, six sigma, 5s, tpm).
* experience managing multidisciplinary teams in shift‑based environments.
* fluent spanish and intermediate to advanced english.
* proficiency in production management, mes, crm, and data analysis tools (excel, power bi, or similar).
