The launch engineer is responsible for coordinating deliverables associated with assigned tier 1 direct oem releases, planning and executing as defined in the bos system to achieve release objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and financial commitments over a 90-day period.
manage engineering changes with the plant team to ensure effective implementation.
* monitor the team assigned to the launch to ensure a sense of ownership and responsibility for the activities of the functional areas at startup.
* serve as the interface between the simultaneous "sdt" team and the team assigned to the launch to achieve program objectives in terms of time, cost, quality, and manufacturability.
* coordinate the construction of validation parts, power builds, run @ rate, and customer events.
* identify program risks and lessons learned, and work on corrective actions to mitigate their effects with the launch team.
* manage activities to ensure compliance with the 0-0-0-100-90 for each project based on the sop.
* complete activities on time with personnel from the different plant support areas (materials, quality, engineering, production) in conjunction with the technical center team (advanced quality and advanced manufacturing).
* manage engineering changes with the plant team, following the engineering change checklist and matrix in a timely manner.
* coordinate breakpoints with the materials team to implement changes with zero obsolescence.
* update documentation to track lpr, pso, and glidepath releases.
* manage material procurement with the release planner for assigned projects.
requirements:
* minimum 1-3 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer (preferred)
* minimum 1-3 years of experience as a project engineer (preferred)
* experience developing new projects.
* basic knowledge of plastic injection molding.
* tooling fundamentals.
* knowledge of quality systems.
* experience managing engineering changes.
