The main purpose of this role is to execute all payroll processes for costa rica, manage payroll deposits, handle monthly payroll tax processes such as ccss & ins, generate gl reports for the bu finance areas, and create sox and us gaap reports for compliance purposes. Additionally, this role is responsible for executing special payroll processes including christmas bonuses, terminations, supporting audits and certification processes related to taxes and business units, and providing support for company sales, acquisitions, and mergers.
this position must ensure compliance with all regulations according to federal & state laws. The role involves interaction and submission of information to corporate groups, especially with the local hr and finance teams, reporting directly to the north of latam payroll operations lead.
key responsibilities:
* ensure 100% accurate and timely payroll and tax calculations for all business units based on the payroll period.
* provide feedback to local hr teams regarding payments/deductions requests and t&a submissions.
* ensure accurate data loads from workday and inputs into softland / start / other payroll systems.
* execute bi-weekly compliance reports to reconcile payroll calculations.
* generate bi-weekly disbursement reports for bank deposits and checks.
* perform monthly tax adjustments and validate results for applicable companies.
* maintain documentation of payroll processes for compliance.
* execute out-of-cycle payments and urgent termination payments.
* provide payroll support, expertise, and guidance for internal and external inquiries.
* research payroll and tax laws and regulations related to transactional tax issues and operations.
* support company projects, identify internal gaps or improvements, and participate actively in implementation.
* assist with other projects and programs as needed.
position requirements:
education: bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred.
experience: at least 2 years of payroll execution experience, with desirable knowledge of payroll processes in costa rica. Specialized knowledge includes annual technical course updates and excellent management of microsoft excel.

Support all processes in the area, including data analysis, database migration, mass data loads, reporting, and controls.
languages: english (85%) or higher; additional languages are a plus.
