The role focuses on leading the discovery, evaluation, and integration of cutting-edge vegetable varieties that meet market demands and align with company objectives. Through rigorous trials and data-driven selection processes, this position ensures the delivery of high-performing, high-quality varieties, fostering product innovation, operational efficiency, and sustainable business growth. Position requirements: engineer or bachelor in horticulture, agronomy, plant science, biotechnology, controlled environment agriculture, agricultural technology management or related field. Master desired. English advanced experience: bachelor´s degree required, with a minimum of 10 years of experience and a proven track record in: strategic innovation cross-functional leadership and collaboration execution of complex r&d and commercialization initiatives. Knowledge and technical requirements greenshouse vegetables crop management knowledge. New varieties development and trialing. Stage gate process. Budget and resource management. Key job accountabilities: develop a scouting strategy for new varieties that addresses short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals to fuel naturesweet´s innovation and renovation pipeline. Ensure this strategy aligns seamlessly with naturesweet´s business expansion objectives. Implement trial designs that test various process conditions, maximizing each variety´s potential in terms of flavor, yield, and quality. Use technical rigor in the selection process to choose top varieties and determine the optimal production technologies. Develop strong relationships with seed companies to identify early opportunities for innovation/renovation projects. Identify strategic partnership for variety development. Improve and maintain comprehensive trialing capabilities across al naturesweet form factors (mid-tech and high-tech) and locations. Strategize with key players to fine-tune pre-commercial trials, minimizing any adverse effects on manufacturing processes. Explore and integrate new technologies to enhance handling and overall agricultural productivity. Location: guadalajara or querétaro.
