Design engineer positiona comprehensive summary of this role encompasses responsibility for structural analysis and design of products to be fabricated by the company, primarily of utility transmission and distribution structures. Included in this is full design responsibility for processing specific quotes and orders, general design engineering support for drafting and sales.the incumbent works on an engineering team responsible for the design of products for quotation requests and orders. Additionally, the incumbent plans and monitors workflow of design activities to meet milestone dates for projects assigned.this position reports to a site engineering manager/supervisor and has no direct or indirect reports.analyze and design products using finite element method (impax design program) and other structural design software taking into consideration both public safety, manufacturability, and minimum cost.interpret customer specifications, customer needs, and market/sales needs.communicate engineering data to customers and others, including itemizing cost-related requirements of a quotation, reviewing engineering drawings and shop drawings, and evaluating as-built products.support efforts of the drafting team to ensure that project requirements have been properly detailed and that order processing proceeds smoothly and rapidly.built internal relationships and foster communications that will promote a professional attitude towards work and office environment.recommend testing to confirm theoretical designs when necessary, including planning and coordination of the testing.communicate information about new ideas, product and system improvements, etc. to encourage increased morale and efficiency.able to travel up to 10% of the time.essential functions:this position reports to a site engineering manager/supervisor with no direct or indirect reports.develop and implement designs for products utilizing finite element method and other structural design software ensuring public safety and manufacturability.evaluate customer specifications and provide engineering solutions based on customer needs and market demands.coordinate communication between stakeholders including clients and internal teams regarding product costs and delivery timelines.collaborate with drafting teams to ensure accurate representation of design details and efficient order processing.maintain a professional working environment through effective internal relationships and communication.plan and coordinate quality assurance tests as required for product validation.promote innovation within the team by sharing knowledge and experience.occasionally travel for business purposes not exceeding 10% of working hours.required qualifications:bachelor's degree in civil engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience.strong technical background in structural engineering.engineer-in-training certification.proficiency in 3d computer-aided design and experience with auto cad.effective communication skills.excellent teamwork abilities.strong passion for delivering exceptional results.highly qualified candidates:master's degree in civil or structural engineering.three to four years of related engineering experience.professional engineer certification in civil or structural engineering.solid understanding of end-use product applications and load development.prior experience designing steel monopoles or industrial utility structures.project team collaboration experience.
