the stanley black & decker strategic sourcing team are looking to recruit an experienced regional category manager to work in our global niche commodities team supporting an overall $180m spend across all business units & plants throughout the corporation.
*hit operational metrics...*
- manage spend of $50m across the global enterprise for niche raw materials, $15bn revenue organization
- achieve 5% yoy productivity goals, across a balanced scorecard inc productivity, service, innovation & quality
- 80% of managed spend under contract, including pricing, terms & conditions, payment terms in alignment
- category management strategies in place to de risk supply base and provide resiliency
- wc achieve optimum cash flow benefits through pt, lt & stocking agreements

*responsibilities will also include*:
- work with a high performing team of 3 rcm across commodities including: copper wire, fasteners, rubbers, paint, adhesives, and more.
- lead & implement sourcing strategies based on knowledge across the categories
- works closely with other leaders & business units to drive synergy across global spend ecosystem
- deliver annual productivity 5%+ and working capital through predefined strategic events
- maintain and understand a broad knowledge of market intelligence on a monthly basis to the business tracking trends and advising on the buy strategies.
- conducts quarterly business reviews with suppliers
- prepare & conducts negotiations for year-over-year productivity expectations, and prepare events calendar to ensure all spend is reviewed.
- prepare contract/agreement for signature and approval within the team
- drive and develops regional risk strategies
- support and deliver to the 4 business priorities, service, quality, innovation, productivity across the supply base
*education and experience*:
bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, logistic engineer, business administration or management information systems (mis)
minimum of 5+ years work related experience in strategic sourcing/category management
*knowledge, skills and abilities*:
- proven track record of strategic sourcing/category management
- experience in leadership and team management
- knowledge of manufacturing industry.
- strong negotiation skills and cost reduction performance
- international sourcing experience
- ability to analyze data
