obstetrician / gynaecologist
for international humanitarian missions

objective of the position
implement gynecological and obstetric procedures, performing any other required treatment during or immediately after a woman has given birth in order to improve women's reproductive health and reduce pregnancy, delivery and neonatology risks. This will be done in accordance with msf policies, protocols and universal hygiene standards and in multidisciplinary collaboration with other medical doctors and midwife services.
responsibilities
* provide health care related to gynecology and obstetrics to patients, including prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
* ensure the implementation of msf clinical policies, tools, guidelines and protocols related to gynecology and obstetrics in order to minimize clinical risk and to extend best reproductive practices.
* in collaboration with other medical colleagues, carry out the collection of quantitative gynecological data and ensure exhaustive use of management tools in order to improve gynecological results and to share knowledge among other field specialists.
* plan and supervise the hr associated processes (recruitment, training, performance evaluation, development and internal/external communication) of the gynecological staff in order to ensure both an efficient sizing and the amount of knowledge required, to improve people's capabilities and their active participation in influencing the targeted population using preventive practices. This will be done in close coordination with the hr department.
* supervise the maintenance and running of the gynecological equipment and drug consumption, preparing new orders when required and ensuring its rational use as well as that pharmacy stock levels are permanently updated and available. This will be done in cooperation with the pharmacist and logistic staff, the management,
profile education and formation
* essential: general physician degree.
* essential: final specialization in obstetrics/gynecology
experience
* essential: minimum 2 years practicing (after specialization) as obstetrician/gynaecologist for a hospital developing multi-purpose activities
* desirable experience in obstetrics in emergency
* desirable work experience with msf and other ngos in developing countries
languages
* essential: english (b2 or higher level)
* essential: spanish (c1 or higher level)
* knowledge of french will be an asset

position conditions
work venue: where the needs of the project require it
profits: monthly remuneration: in the first 12 months, the bonus approximate gross monthly is usd $1,500. From the second year remuneration increases based on experience (previous and acquired) and the level of responsibility in the field. Private insurance coverage that includes medical coverage and hospital, temporary disability and life insurance. The organization also has an arranged medical evacuation if necessary. The expenses of stay in the land are covered: housing, basic services, cleaning and washing. Other expenses such as transportation, visas, transfer to the country of destination and displacements in the field will also be covered by msf. Per diem or monthly per diem: mainly to cover meals and small personal expenses.

the vacancy remains open all year round due to the needs within the humanitarian missions. The selection process may take 3 to 6 months after my application, once accepted, you will be part of the msf international pool, and the mission assignment may take 3 to 6 months after validation.
