*position summary*
the future operations (fops) scheduler is responsible for maintaining an accurate, fully staffed schedule for upcoming weeks.
this position ensures 100% shift coverage following the copy-forward trigger (which occurs at midnight every saturday) and plays a key role in maintaining operational continuity, schedule compliance, and team accountability.
*key responsibilities*:
- shift coverage and planning*_
- ensure all unassigned shifts for the upcoming week are covered as a priority.
- once the immediate schedule is filled, begin assigning shifts further out into the future.

- prioritize hard-to-fill shifts first (e.g., those requiring higher clearances or specialized qualifications).
- utilize tools such as bubo gantt to filter by availability, qualifications, and shift preferences.
- review and respond to officer shift requests, prioritizing those who do not incur overtime.

- monitor officer weekly hours using the scheduling platform to avoid unnecessary overtime.
- if overtime is unavoidable, secure advance approval from a team lead.

- adhere to all cba requirements when applicable.
- follow established sops and organizational scheduling policies.

- maintain high scheduling efficiency by ensuring all assigned shifts remain unchanged from handoff through the end of the week.
- contribute to team performance targets that align with incentive programs based on scheduled shift hours.
*qualifications*
- experience in scheduling, dispatch, call center, or a related field.
- proficiency with scheduling software and databases (e.g., salesforce, excel, or similar platforms).
- strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- effective time management and the ability to prioritize competing tasks.
- strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- ability to work independently while coordinating closely with internal teams.
