me i primary responsibilities
1. define, justify, implement, and validate manufacturing processes.
2. follow activities to maintain and understand fpy in processes.
3. track process metrics and drive process improvement.
4. collaborate with development teams, manufacturing, customers, and suppliers to ensure that highly manufacturable designs are released to production.
5. support specification of components and materials.
6. develop manufacturing plans.
7. routine design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of tooling.
8. may assign work to technicians as appropriate.
9. provide expedient technical support to all areas of the company wherever required.
10. create and maintain good supplier and customer relationships.
11. drive quality improvements and manage assigned cars (corrective action requests).
12. support lean manufacturing efforts.
13. gather tooling requirements from manufacturing engineering and product drawings/specifications.
14. interpret customer inspection requirements to ensure tooling functionality.
15. support quality assurance personnel with tool inspection criteria and interpretation of inspection data.
16. work hands-on with operators as required to train and evaluate tool use and improvements.
17. maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
18. understand and live by leach’s ethics and business conduct policies.
19. perform other duties as required.
position shift: day shift
the profile of the engineer must be:
* mechanical engineer
* electronic engineer
* aerospace engineer
* industrial engineer
qualifications:
1. a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in electronic engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronic engineering or aerospace engineering discipline.
2. strong mechanical and industrial engineering background, working on solving complex material, design for manufacturability and process issues.
3. over 5+ years of experience leading product, process, project, manufacturing or quality engineering teams.
4. minimum of three years of experience in manufacturing engineering with knowledge of the following processes/techniques: welding process, soldering, electromechanical assemblies.
5. general understanding of communications protocols (mil-std-, asm, nadcap, gd&t (ym14.5)).
6. experience to lead savings project, transfer lines and npi.
7. understanding of process capability, statistical analysis and design of experiments.
8. excellent written and oral communication skills. English fluency is required.
9. skills in cad, word, excel, outlook and visio.
10. expected to travel domestically and internationally with short notice on occasions up to 25% of the time.
