Category manager for plastics
we empower industries to innovate – leaner and cleaner.
this role reports to procurement manager. Key stakeholders include r&d, product engineering, operations, and quality; external partners are primarily strategic suppliers of plastic components and materials.
key responsibilities:
* we develop and execute procurement strategies for the plastics category focused on cost, quality, delivery, and supplier reliability.
* we ensure execution in accordance with company procurement policies and supply base management procedures.
* we recommend and execute frame agreements with key suppliers.
* we maintain technical, production capacity and compliance capability of suppliers to meet current and future business needs.
* we plan and execute procurement activities, cost controls, savings initiatives, and risk mitigation for plastics.
* we lead rfq processes and e-auctions for plastic components and materials.
* we negotiate and renew supplier agreements, price lists, and terms and conditions.
* we identify and onboard new suppliers focused on cost optimization, innovation, sustainability, and local sourcing.
* we collaborate with engineering and product development teams to influence design-to-cost and material selection from a sourcing perspective.
