the senior it operations analyst provides advanced technical support, maintenance, and leadership for business applications. This role involves troubleshooting complex issues, leading projects, mentoring junior analysts, and collaborating with development teams to implement enhancements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in application support, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent user support.

essential duties and responsibilities
* advanced application support: provide high-level support for business applications, addressing complex user queries and resolving technical issues promptly.
* troubleshooting and problem resolution: diagnose and troubleshoot complex application problems, working with users and technical teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
* performance monitoring and optimization: monitor application performance and system health, ensure applications run efficiently, and identify potential issues before they impact users.
* user assistance and training: assist users with advanced application-related questions and provide training and documentation to help them effectively use the applications.
* incident and problem management: manage and prioritize incidents and service requests, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder communication. Lead problem management efforts to identify and resolve recurring issues.
* collaboration and coordination: work closely with development teams, it, and other stakeholders to implement application updates, patches, and enhancements.
* documentation and knowledge management: maintain comprehensive documentation of application configurations, support procedures, troubleshooting steps, and knowledge articles.
* change management: participate in and lead change management processes, ensuring application changes are tested and deployed smoothly.
* compliance and security: ensure applications comply with security policies and regulatory requirements, implementing necessary controls and safeguards.
* mentorship and leadership: mentor and guide junior application support analysts, providing technical expertise and support to help them develop their skills.
* continuous improvement: identify process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance application support and efficiency. Lead initiatives to implement these improvements.
* other duties: perform other assigned job-related duties that align with our organization's vision, mission, and values and fall within your scope of practice.
qualifications
* education: bachelor's degree or relevant experience in computer science, management information systems, or a related field.
* experience: 3+ years of relevant and practical experience.
special skills
* advanced technical knowledge: proficiency in sql for troubleshooting in microsoft sql server and oracle environments and a strong understanding of application support processes.
* shell scripting: ability to develop and migrate shell scripts for automating tasks and managing systems.
* system integration testing: designing and executing system integration tests to ensure seamless operation of applications.
* customer service: skills to provide end‐user support and maintain high satisfaction levels.
* decision-making: ability to make sound judgments under pressure during critical incidents.
* inter‐departmental communication: facilitating communication between departments for customer support and issue resolution, explaining complex technical concepts to various audiences.
* leadership: ability to guide and mentor junior team members and oversee it support teams while developing strategic it solutions aligned with organizational goals.
* problem-solving: proficiency in diagnosing and resolving technical and operational issues.
* project management: experience managing projects and coordinating with various stakeholders.
* stakeholder management: skill in managing expectations and relationships with internal clients.
* effective communication and mentoring: articulates complex technical concepts clearly, exhibits empathy and self‐awareness, demonstrates excellent problem‐solving skills and time management, and shows adaptability and originality in approaching challenges.
