Position summary: plans and directs construction inprogress and fixed assets activities within a finance department ordivision of an organization by performing the following duties,personally or through subordinate staffs. Essential duties andresponsibilities include the following: - other duties may beassigned. - assists in the development and implementation ofpolicies and procedures relating to construction in progress andfixed assets. - record fixed asset acquisitions, transfers anddispositions in the fixed asset and accounting system. - trackcompany expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capitalbudget and management authorizations. - prepare monthlyrollforwards for asset activity. - monthly management reporting forprojects. - determining and book depreciation and review thecapitalized interest for all fixed assets and verify accuracy. -work with outside consultants to provide asset information. -reconcile balance in the fixed asset systems to the general ledgeraccounts as well as physical inventory. - prepare, maintain andadhere to ifrs accounting policies and conduct periodic impairmentreviews. - all other duties as assigned. Qualifications: educationand/or experience: intermediate/advanced english language(speaking and writing) for supporting an effective businesscommunication bachelor's degree in accounting, finance orbusiness 1-5 years fixed asset experience required. The abilityto work independently with minimal supervision. Proficient insap, qad, as400 and microsoft excel must be able to meetcommunicated schedules and deadlines. Must be organized, detailoriented and able to multi-task. Must be able to communicateprofessionally and maintain good working relationships. with allemployees reasoning ability: ability to solve practical problemsand deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations whereonly limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a varietyof instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduleform.
