role purpose
the associate vice president, gcb5 position is a newly established global iwpb operational resilience (opres) utility team leading the operational resilience agenda across markets. Operational resilience requires a need to build strong relationships and establish strong collaboration with key stakeholders, including businesses, operations, it, third party, business continuity and incident management etc. The role will support the delivery of operational resilience business as usual activities in line with regulatory requirements, the group's framework and business priorities.
the role will involve performing opres activities within a market/s in support of the business service owner to deliver core resilience capabilities including mapping, testing, assessments etc.
principal accountabilities and responsibilities:
* act as key point of contact for the business service owner (bso) to refresh the ibs artefacts on annual cycle or by trigger events (e.g. post-incident review, significant business changes, new regulatory requirement etc).
* manage the relationship with key stakeholders (e.g. Process owner, third party engagement manger, it service owner, global mapping team) to ensure the ibs artefacts are up to date.
* supervise the monitoring and tracking of the remediation plan of business vulnerabilities and technology vulnerabilities.
* co-ordinate scenario testing the scenario testing with business continuity and incident management (bcim) team and key stakeholders.
* support business service owners (bso) in completing their quarterly self-assessment and annual self-assessment, ensuring sign-off and obtaining risk steward comments.
* responsible for ensuring all important business service (ibs) artefacts are observing to global operating instructions and procedures, also to make sure the data quality on aris and bso dashboard is accurate.
* responsible for ensuring meeting materials are prepared for the bso governance meetings, coordinate inputs from stakeholders, and arrange pre-meetings with business, it, and operations teams for material incidents.
* address and follow up on queries and challenges from the second line of defence (2lod) and third line of defence/audit (3lod).
* contribute to the global landscape of operational resilience programme activities, ensuring alignment with broader objectives.
functional knowledge
* university graduate.
* possess working experience from a banking/financial institution, familiar with hsbc products and business services.
* experienced in liaising with internal/external business partners.
* excellent written and verbal english communication skills.
* good knowledge in operational resilience or have a strong interest and ability to learn fast.
* ability to work agile and experience in project management with good deliverables.
experience in it incident management / third party management / business continuity management would be an advantage.
