Overview
The Buyer is responsible for executing procurement activities of electronic components, metals, fabricated parts, and assemblies to support the manufacturing of programmable power supplies in a high-mix environment. Ensure timely delivery of materials in alignment with production schedules and company supply chain procedures.
Responsibilities
- Execute purchase orders based on MRP output and production needs.
- Monitor and follow up on deliveries to ensure timely arrival of materials.
- Support cost reduction initiatives through supplier collaboration and alternative sourcing.
- Assist in resolving supply issues and shortages in coordination with Planning and Warehousing.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
- Process supplier returns and replacements.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Participate in inventory control efforts and support cycle count activities.
- Assist in identifying potential suppliers and evaluating quotes.
- Complete assigned tasks and support special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Logistics or related field preferred.
- 2–3 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain in a manufacturing environment (metal-mechanic industry preferred).
- Strong fluency in English, with a demonstrated ability to negotiate and interface at a technical level with US-based suppliers.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and MRP systems (Navision, Oracle or similar is a plus).
- Basic negotiation skills and ability to work with numbers.
- Team-oriented with a proactive attitude.
