Key responsibilities
data pipeline development: design, implement, and maintain etl/elt workflows using alteryx, sql, and aws from multiple data sources
data quality management: validate, cleanse, and monitor data across crm (salesforce), analytics platforms, and data lakes
automation & scalability: build automated solutions for data ingestion, transformation, and integrity checks
reporting & visualization: develop dashboards and reports using tableau to track data health and provide actionable insights
collaboration: work closely with sales ops, marketing, finance, and it teams to align data governance practices and support business objectives
root cause analysis: investigate and resolve data anomalies, ensuring timely corrections and preventive measures
cloud data engineering: utilize aws s3, athena, and glue for data storage, querying, and transformation
documentation & governance: implement data governance standards and monitor compliance via automated checks to reduce data quality incidents and improve audit outcomes
data lineage & cataloging: define and operationalize data lineage, cataloging, and classification
what you’ll bring to alcon
education: bachelor’s degree in data engineering, computer science, information systems, actuaries, economics, or related field
experience: 2+ years in data engineering, data governance, or analytics roles
technical skills: sql (advanced query optimization and troubleshooting); aws services: s3, athena, glue; etl tools: alteryx; visualization: tableau; crm: salesforce; data modelling and validation
soft skills: strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, stakeholder management, and excellent communication skills
preferred qualifications
experience with python for data processing and automation
familiarity with data governance frameworks and best practices
ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
