the business development manager ii is responsible for leading and executing a portfolio of cross-functional initiatives that support the company’s manufacturing footprint strategy and long-term business objectives. This role translates strategic intent into disciplined, value-driven programs, ensuring effective project execution, stakeholder alignment, risk mitigation, and measurable operational and financial outcomes across global operations. This role is responsible for leading regional (americas / global) footprint consolidation process optimization.
Responsibilities summary
oversee strategic footprint business initiatives from definition through successful execution under the guidance of senior leadership
build and lead a high caliber project management team that can deliver sustaining projects aligned with enhancing business unit operating income and strategic goal attainment
manage a complex portfolio of strategic initiatives including: footprint consolidation, localization, tariff risk mitigation, capacity expansion and inorganic operations integration
develop strategic intent into robust projects consisting of a clear scope/statement of work, recruit/manage cross functional teams aligned with goal attainment, decompose strategic expectations into manageable work packages, drive task ownership/accomplishment through influence rather than direct line reporting and manage communication through project member/stakeholders
create and maintain cross-functional relationships to enable leadership success
lead portfolio of projects to drive completion of tasks, work through bottlenecks, assess risks and raise issues to leadership
communicate with executive in decision‑making, program management, and initiative implementation
determine and document correct standardized methods/processes/report tools/governance approach for the footprint activities
improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity
follow the stage gate process and ensure all gate documents are prepared and submitted for approval
establish the tools and frameworks so that projects team can manage for optimal return on investment and budget for projects are accountable for delivering against established business/project goals
track lessons learned and manage best practices
conduct closeout meetings and post‑closures reviews
assume day‑to‑day responsibility for projects and tasks

proven experience in migrations, integrations, and closures

job requirements
minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in operations and/or manufacturing environments, with increasing levels of responsibility
proven experience leading complex, cross‑functional strategic initiatives, such as:
manufacturing site migrations and transfers
facility consolidations and closures
capacity expansion and localization initiatives
integration of inorganic operations (e.g., m&a‑driven integrations)
multi‑site manufacturing environments
experience managing a portfolio of strategic programs or projects, rather than single, isolated initiatives
program and project leadership
pmp or equivalent project management certification preferred
proven ability to lead and influence cross‑functional teams without direct reporting authority
strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
location: mexico.
Travel: willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to ~30%.
