*job duties*:reporting to this position are various levels of ehs staff and support staff.
the incumbent must train and facilitate the development of the working group to develop collaborative relationships between them, suppliers, other cross-functional groups and internal customers to ensure that the objectives are achieved. The incumbent needs a respite from knowledge and experience, including ehs regulations, programs, and policies.
helps operations management understand related ehs requirements and their impact on operations. Assess the impact of impending regulations and communicate these issues to the appropriate facility personnel. Uses and presents possible modifications to the corporation's "best management practices" programs to ensure that the plans fit the needs of the facility.
*representative activities*:
1. Identifies common safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization's operations and works with the ehs manager or corporate ehs to establish guidelines for protection against those hazards.
2. Evaluates and establishes standards for protective equipment.
3. Conducts self-assessments of safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and suitability for local conditions.
4. Generation and/or review of reports for environmental (epa) and safety (stps / osha) agencies.
5. Control and administration of kpis (local and corporate).
6. Coordination of ehs technical activities.
7. Control and administration of department process documentation.
8. Development of strategic planning of the department.
9. Management and development of projects in a multidisciplinary team to reduce risks in work stations.
10. Participation in expansion projects (regarding ehs).
11. Coordination of the safety management program (in plant and contractors).
*background/experience*
a technical degree and 3-5 years of prior experience are highly desirable and equivalent ehs experience will be considered.
a solid understanding of ehs regulations and corporate standards is essential. Strong communication skills are necessary.
intermediate-advanced english (written and spoken).
