Winchester is a wholly-owned subsidiary of aptiv (nyse: aptv), a global technology leader with more than 180,000 people across 124 manufacturing facilities and 12 major technical centers worldwide. This position reports to the gm, mil/aero and will help to drive the team’s capabilities with respect to the quality and timeliness of decision making by ensuring financial results are accurate and relevant.criteria for success:
bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
minimum of 7 years of accounting experience with a demonstrated background of closing the books timely and accurately with minimal or no audit adjustments
minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment
minimum of 3 years of experience leading teams and managing people
strong communication skills for interaction with all levels of the organization
technical capability to prepare, analyze and interpret financial and operational data/reports
demonstrated analytical and thinking skills; intellectual rigor and curiosity; problem-solving capability
experience in a high accountability/metrics-driven environment
experience with an internal control environment that ensures information is reliable, accurate and timely
bilingual english/spanish working with us-based corporate team, as well as local mexico team

What will you be accountable for?
Manage and improve the daily, weekly, and monthly reporting processes (including ongoing budget and forecasting activities)
meet deadlines communicated to the field by both the winchester corporate finance team and parent company
provide financial analysis, interpretation of variances from budgets, and advice to management to drive actions and opportunities to achieve targets
ensure accurate and reliable product cost and inventory valuation
ensure adherence to standard accounting principles and practices and the company’s stated policies and system of internal controls
manage and develop the plant financial staff by establishing a work environment that encourages individual career development and growth
financial aspects of any factory or office relocation or expansion
how will you collaborate?
Works as a partner to the general manager of the division, the corporate financial team and local plant management to help improve business results through informed management decisions based on timely and accurate information
assists the gm and operating team in developing and driving improvement strategies for the division
works with the winchester corporate finance team to ensure an appropriate balance between division priorities and reporting necessary to support the winchester and aptiv consolidation and public reporting needs
bilingual spanish is a plus
what are you empowered to do?
Provide advice and counsel to the plant and division’s leadership team on the financial implications of operating strategies, cost control actions, and decisions
analyze the business units’ results and make recommendations for operating management to maximize the site’s profit and cash flow
evaluate and manage all plant-level capital investments
lead management’s efforts in responding to internal audits, sarbanes oxley, and other financial and/or internal control review processes conducted for the division
make financial presentations of business results to division and corporate management
