The right candidate will be a boundary less, technical leader who can look at the big picture, collaborate closely with business, product, and engineering teams, and help develop solutions that are aligned to business and enterprise strategy. They are seasoned engineers who would help build reliable, modular, high-scale software systems, and multi-tenant global platforms.responsibilities:• design technical solutions for complex business and engineering problems, driving architectural designs across multiple enterprise business and technical domain areas.• lead complex technical and strategic discussions that involve multiple personas including engineering, product, business operations, and other stakeholders.• develop trusted partnerships with developers, business partners, product, and architecture leaders to drive optimized platform / product delivery.• build, mentor, and teach a community of engineers, and act as a central resource to provide advisory on complex projects and issues.• assess and leverage technology when appropriate from global solutions existing in walmart ecosystem to build / leverage scalable and innovative solutions.• design and help develop solutions as platforms/saas-style services that can be readily used by other business units and businesses.• possess a high sense of urgency to solve problems and executing them with ownership.• works with globally distributed teams, influencing technical decisions, shaping the design of global platforms, adopting to local market needs.• be an engineering and operational excellence champion, and drive improvements in software delivery maturity and in operational readiness of systems.• collaborate with the extended, walmart global tech architecture and engineering community, contributing to the development and adoption of global standards and software engineering practices.what we're looking for:• bachelor's and/or master’s degree in systems engineering, computer science.• advanced english• 10+ years in software development and 5+ years as a technical architect (or equivalent individual contributor, technical leadership roles)• engineering experience with large scale product development in open stack and modern cloud-native architectures (azure, gcp)• experience with modern software development and delivery methodologies (devops, continuous integration, continuous deployment, automation)• exposure to modern programming languages and frameworks (java, go, nodejs, typescript, python, react, spring boot, rust, etc.).• experience in modern cloud-native architectures (containers, kubernetes, serverless functions, event-driven architectures)• experience in building multi-tenant, domain-oriented architectures.• experience of working with globally distributed teams.• experience or proven ability to drive technical vision and provide technical mentorship to all levels of engineering talent.
