we're looking for individuals who share our passion for delivering exceptional service and building strong relationships with customers. As a collections specialist, you'll play a crucial role in driving our business forward by proactively communicating with customers, analyzing aging reports, and making informed decisions to ensure timely payments.
responsibilities:
• proactively communicate with customers to ensure timely payments
• analyze aging reports to identify problematic accounts to escalate
• identify and recommend accounts for credit holds and/or third-party collections
• prepare non-paying customers for third-party collections
• identify accounts that would qualify for the auto collect program
• research short pays, working with both the external customer and internally with the customer representative
• troubleshoot billing discrepancies with the billing team and sales/ops to find permanent fixes for recurring issues
• provide regular & ad-hoc statements to customers, reps & auditors, as requested
• research unapplied cash to identify invoices for which payment was intended or refund, to be determined on a case-by-case basis
• review credit hold requests received from the credit team or sales rep and make appropriate decision to release or hold
• support annual and ad-hoc audit requests, as needed
• other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
requirements:
• excellent communication, time management & organization skills
• strong attention to detail & reconciliation skills
• proficient with ms office products (excel, word, outlook, teams, onenote etc.)
• excellent math & analytical skills
• ability to identify and solve problems, perform under pressure, and meet deadlines
• superior customer service skills
• ability to work with little or no supervision, while still being a team player
• 1-3 years previous collections experience required
• accounting degree or equivalent experience preferred
