we are seeking a passionate and qualified dance teacher/coach with a bachelor's degree in dance, performing arts, education, or a related field to join our international school in china. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and building a dynamic dance program, teaching dance within the physical education (pe) curriculum, leading after-school dance programs, and choreographing for school productions such as dance festivals, musical, and other performances.
this role requires creativity, strong instructional skills, and the ability to inspire students of all ages and skill levels. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about fostering a love for dance, promoting artistic expression, and contributing to the school's vibrant arts community.
key responsibilities
- develop and implement a structured dance curriculum for pe classes, ensuring alignment with international education standards.
- lead and expand the school's dance program, including after-school clubs, competitive teams (if applicable), and performance groups.
- choreograph and direct dance performances for school productions, including musical, dance festivals, and cultural events.
- teach various dance styles (e.g., contemporary, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, cultural dance) to students of different age groups and skill levels.
- foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment that encourages student creativity and confidence.
- organize and oversee dance showcases, competitions, and collaborations with other departments (e.g., music, drama).
- assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their artistic growth.
- collaborate with school leadership to promote the dance program and recruit student participation.
- willingness to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of a diverse, multicultural student body.
qualifications & requirements
- native english speaker
- bachelor's degree in dance, performing arts, education, or a related field.
- previous teaching experience in a school setting (preferred).
- willingness to relocate to china.
