The purchasing manager is responsible for managing end-to-end purchasing activities, including purchase orders, production plans and timelines, manufacturer capacity allocation, and payments for goods from both local andglobal suppliers.
this role ensures compliance with supply agreement terms while maintaining close alignment with corporate supply chain strategies and cross-functional internal teams.the position oversees all aspects of material management to support cost estimating and new product introduction (npi) builds, from initial concept through mass production.

these evaluations focus on identifying opportunities for cost reduction, service improvement, capacity planning, and long-term supplier partnershipsthe purchasing manager provides leadership and guidance to the purchasing team, advising buyers on sourcing strategies and tactical execution to ensure effective procurement operations and professional development of team members.bachelor's degree in supply chain,engineering, business, or related field.10+ years in procurement or supply chain roles and 5+ years managing teams.advanced computer skills,particularly in microsoft excel, erp experience (epicor preferred), procurement analytics tools, and supplier negotiations.experience with machined components,metals, extrusions, and outside processing.bilingual english/spanish and strong analytical skills.
experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and manufacturing routers.
technical knowledge of aluminum and steel raw materials, extrusions, machining services, external processes, and injection-molded plastics.experience sourcing from a global supplier base using various contractual models.proven success participating in cross-functional new product introduction (npi) projects, including cost modeling and supplier negotiations.
