Job opportunity: tax expert
we are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our tax strategy in the usa and canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing tax goals, policies, and procedures.
* develop and implement tax strategies for the north american region.
* manage income tax compliance requirements for us/ca locations, including research and development tax credits.
* oversee current and deferred tax financial statement positions.
* advise various company functions on indirect tax compliance, such as us sales and use tax and vat.
requirements:
the ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in business administration or accounting from a four-year college or university, or demonstrated equivalent experience. A current cpa or mst candidate is preferred. At least 7 years of relevant experience with demonstrated success is required.
key responsibilities:
* lead the development and implementation of tax goals, policies, priorities, and procedures.
* ensure organizational compliance with tax code changes in the north american region.
* directly manage income tax compliance requirements for us/ca locations, including research and development tax credits.
* oversee tax compliance for all north american locations.
* assist in liaising with government agencies or committees to secure grants, credits, incentives, and subsidies.
* maintain reconciliations for tax book preparation and provision for us/ca income taxes.
* communicate with functional staff to improve processes and data affecting financial reporting results.
* recognize complex technical issues, evaluate facts efficiently, and use strategic decision-making skills to improve processes by developing best practices.
