Purchasing manager role
fpc bangor is seeking a seasoned purchasing manager to oversee all aspects of purchasing operations. This key role ensures timely delivery of essential goods and services, critical to the plant's core business objectives.
responsibilities:
·adhere to company policies and safety guidelines.
·maintain strong supplier relationships.
·negotiate contracts to secure high-quality goods.
·evaluate suppliers based on quality, pricing, reliability, technical support, and availability.
·develop strategic initiatives to optimize p&l contribution through cost reduction and minimize market inflation impact.
·lead direct reports effectively.
requirements:
·bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (preferred).
·5+ years of experience in procurement, materials management, or supply chain (or relevant experience in the pulp and paper industry).
·proven experience in negotiating supplier contracts.
·strong leadership skills.
