Electronics category strategy manager
we are seeking a skilled electronics category strategy manager to lead the development, management, and oversight of standard supply chain processes. This individual will develop enterprise strategies through consensus building to implement cost-effective improvements across eaton operations.
this position is responsible for driving sourcing strategies for the electronics category, which includes active and passive components. Key responsibilities include establishing and leading supply chain teams in developing strategies to leverage eaton's enterprise buy, generate cost-outcome results, reduce the supply base, and improve quality and service performance.
the ideal candidate will have knowledge of the electronic components category and ability to identify technology and economic trends within the category. They will demonstrate knowledge and experience in successfully deploying category strategies and driving cost-out. The candidate should possess creative thinking skills to produce new approaches in category management and implement emerging tools. Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills are necessary to converse with senior management, suppliers, operations, and scm personnel. Ability to coordinate cross-functional/global teams, influence, and drive effective organizational change across impacted regions/businesses is essential.
key responsibilities:
* negotiate and manage key strategic supplier contracts and relationships
* establish, review, approve, monitor, and report compliance to category agreements and strategies based upon eaton scm strategic directions
* lead category to develop innovative business solutions, forecasts, and category projections to understand and manage economics, risks, and market drivers
* present to senior management new planning tools, methods, technical analysis, standards, and procurement opportunities that are aligned with scm/eaton strategic plans and cost reduction initiatives
* drive eaton's go green process to meet enterprise goals and understand market gap available in category through ariba rfqs, e-auctions, should cost, supplier total waste elimination events, and market intelligence
qualifications:
basic qualifications:
* bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
* minimum of 3 years' professional experience in supply chain or operations
preferred qualifications:
* bachelor's degree in supply chain or business administration or mechanical, industrial, or production engineering from an accredited institution
* professional supply chain related certification (e.g. Cpm, cpim)
* mba or master's degree in supply chain from an accredited institution
* 7+ years' supply chain experience with accountability across multiple manufacturing facilities
* 3-5 years' category management experience with a strong preference for electronics components experience
