Description
primary responsibility: responsibilities include directing, leading and managing the technical activities in one or more engineering disciplines (mechanical, software, packaging, electrical, reliability, systems, applications, or process engineering). Evaluates final results of research and development projects to assure accomplishment of technical objectives. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
1. Research and implementation of new processes.
2. Monitor and improve throughput, quality, yield, and uptime of equipment/processes.
3. Continuous improvement of processing line.
4. Establish analysis frequencies, maintenance schedules, and execute statistical process control on process parameters.
5. Update and maintain documentation (pfmea, control plan, pfds, etc.).
6. Facilitate necessary experiments (does, proof of hypotheses) to troubleshoot quality issues and implement improvements.
7. Deliver products which conform to customer specifications.
Education
1. Bachelor of engineering; masters in a specific technical field preferred (processes, materials, sciences, chemistry, semiconductors, etc.).
2. Job experience or other technical / engineering education can be substituted for educational preferences.
Required skills
1. 3+ years of experience in manufacturing environment (process engineering preferred).
2. Understanding of wet processing chemistries, equipment, and principles.
3. Troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills, & process control fundamental understanding.
4. Ability to analyze statistical data and statistical process control; familiarity with software such as jmp or minitab is preferred.
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with multiple engineering groups and customers.
6. English level >80%.
Desired skills and experience
1. 2+ years of experience in plating, anodizing, ecoat, and/or wet chemistry applications.
2. 2+ years of production operations experience, particularly in high volume manufacturing.
3. Ability to apply fundamental theories in real engineering problem solving.
4. Industry or r&d manufacturing experience with electroless/electrolytic plating processes.
5. Experience with xrf and other plating metrology techniques, such as xps, sem/edx, etc.
6. Leading/supervising technical or engineering teams.
