Job description:
we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced regional wan product & service manager to oversee and manage the service delivery and service assurance of wan services — including mpls-vpn, evpl, iepl/iplc, and submarine cable solutions—across our south american operations.
this role requires a results-driven professional with strong ownership, excellent communication and coordination skills, and a deep understanding of the telecom landscape in various south american countries. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in local network service providers, possess outstanding cross-cultural communication abilities, and demonstrate the capability to drive project delivery and post-sales service improvement in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
geographic scope of responsibility:
• northern region – mexico, guatemala, jamaica, dominican republic, panama, colombia, venezuela, ecuador
key responsibilities:
• coordinate the delivery of business projects with telecommunications providers, network service providers, and bmo partners across the latin america (latam) region.
• take full ownership of the delivery process, proactively handling unexpected issues at any stage, and independently providing practical, value-added solutions.
• primary delivery scope includes backbone and local-loop provisioning for mpls networks, evpl, and submarine cable projects within the latam region. All projects involve private networks and are not related to the public internet.
• while deep technical expertise in networking is not a requirement, the candidate must have a thorough understanding of the components and key elements involved in wide area network (wan) service delivery, coupled with strong coordination and project management skills.
• familiarity with, and strong professional connections within, the latam telecommunications supplier ecosystem will be considered a significant advantage.
candidate requirements:
education & experience:
· bachelor's degree in telecommunications / it / engineering, or related field.
· 10+ years of experience
in service management, operations, or customer success within the telecommunications industry or wan services.
· 2+ years of working experience
in multinational environment, candidates who have worked for chinese enterprises will be given priority consideration.
technical & professional skills:
· in-depth knowledge of telecom infrastructure (e.g., fiber optics) and wan services.
language & cultural competencies:
· for candidates based in mexico: native spanish speaker with fluent english proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
· for candidates based in brazil: native portuguese speaker with fluent english proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
· demonstrated ability to work effectively across diverse cultures in south america (e.g., brazil, argentina, colombia, chile).
