*responsibilities*:
- receive and review customer design requirements (3d, drawings/plans, electronic information, etc.).
- review and verify the conformity of product drawings with aptiv and customer design standards.
- work directly with technicians/designers to resolve design issues.
- create and publish 2d drawings and bills of materials (boms) for customer information.
- perform successive verifications and issue error-free 2d drawings and boms. Maintain up-to-date information on harness drawings/plans, boms, and related product information.
- request process validation and release requisitions (tcvr, splicing/sonic terminals, and sleeve sealing), and also request component design and change requests (crs).
- register new components in etracker.
- support construction events at aptiv manufacturing plants and with the customer.
- provide support for the enterprise operating system (eos). Generate and release engineering permissions: standard and mandatory - and error-free avs.
- support the engineering change quotation process.
- schedule meetings to communicate design change details with operations (methods, quality, process, etc.).
- support software or system enhancements during testing phases.
- support material and labor cost reduction initiatives (vaves and mi).
- serve as the primary contact (liaison) for addressing design issues between operations and the client.
- complete and monitor application engineering metrics.
- analyze and resolve problems.
- participate in client meetings.
- actively participate in design improvement workshops as requested by the client/aptiv. Be responsible for the main harness families.
- responsible for the design of channels, grommets, special and multi-cable systems, etc.
- responsible for assigned technicians.
- manage different platforms and model years. Lead and participate in special projects.
- participate in and support new business proposals.

*required skills/competencies*
- advanced english proficiency.
- completed engineering degree.
- 3 years of experience with automotive wiring harnesses.
- experience with autocad, solidworks, catia, ug, caph, zuken, etc.
- proficiency in microsoft office.
- experience with engineering and manufacturing change management processes.
- knowledge of key and basic quality tools.
- ability to organize, prioritize, and effectively manage multiple conflicting tasks.
- ability to make sound and timely decisions to independently resolve problems.
- excellent communication skills.
- demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
