position objective
:
carry out the planning and purchasing of raw material and packaging supplies necessary to meet the production plan in sap.
ensure compliance with and maintenance of the inventory policy in order to define the optimal quantities to purchase and to make inventory projections.
skills / experience:
* education: industrial engineering, business administration or related fields.
* experience: 3 years in similar positions (preferably in the food or pharmaceutical industry).
* *proficient in the use of mrp ii, manufacturing systems tools and techniques, lean manufacturing for planning, and knowledge of production processes. Knowledge of apics is desirable.
* ability to travel to the work center in ocoyoacac, state of mexico.
* fluent and conversational english.
* solid knowledge of sap (planning modules), project management, and ms office.

key responsibilities:
* place purchase orders (pos) on time and accurately to meet 100% of the production plan.
* negotiate delivery dates with suppliers and follow up on purchase
orders to ensure the arrival of materials with the correct quality, quantity, and delivery date.
* manage the inventory level of raw materials and packaging materials in accordance with the inventory policy defined by the company.
* administer inventory levels and warehouse occupancy to avoid any storage over-costs or impact on production.
* maintain the inventory policies for materials and ensure the proper functioning of mrp in sap.
* ensure the integrity of material master data in sap.
* generate inventory analysis to identify obsolete material risks and manage necessary actions to minimize them.
* responsible for supplier compliance, incidents, and reliability indicators. Follow up on corrective and preventive actions to meet the company's objectives.
* provide support to the commercial area in managing projects like new products, material changes, suppliers, etc.
* support in achieving freight cost objectives.
* generate material requirement forecasts to support cost reduction objectives.
* manage documentation for invoice payments and supplier credit notes on time.
* promote improvement plans and/or cost reductions.
* procure materials from approved suppliers within the necessary timelines to avoid materials with short shelf lives. Align with the supplier evaluation processes dictated by the quality department and follow up on corrective action reports.
