job responsibilities include but are not limited to

* actively participate in asset management and support the asset managers, based on common objectives of the company and owners.
* be a strategic leader of the engineering division focused on asset preservation, energy efficiency, safety and focused on maximizing investments.
* supervise as the owner's representative the operations of the engineering divisions in all properties part of the asset portfolio.
* ensuring fire life and safety compliance standards.
* promote the strategies of the engineering division by integrating them into the vision of the hotel business, return on investment and asset management strategies.
* promote the continuous improvement of the structures and organizational charts of the engineering divisions.
* organization and planning of engineering audits and monthly reports as part of the property.
* develop and implement strategies and objectives with accounting and maintenance kpis.
* monitoring the performance of kpi's of po&m, r&m and utilities.
* identify savings opportunities in contract services, seeking synergies and traceability between properties.
* introduce sustainability and esg programs as a business strategy.
* promote efficiency energy capital projects with roi.
* promote achievable goals for energy reduction, water consumption, co2 emissions and recycling.
* review and monitoring of capex or opex based on technological renewal, energy efficiency and asset security.
* increase the value of properties based on medium and long-term capex investment plans.
* monitoring investment projects and ensuring compliance with brand standards.
* overseeing construction engineering, planning, and design for our properties and other new expansion and retrofit projects.
* support the development of specifications, technical analysis to fully define the design requirements, equipment and services required for ongoing capital projects.
* provide technical direction concerning engineering design, building design, layouts, build details, schedules and materials.
* assess facilities, develop and document procedures to audit the facility, provide evaluations and analysis, and recommend solutions related to infrastructure, safety and security problems involving facilities and people.
* support contract negotiation with contractors and present formal documentation for approval when required.
* ensure that contracts are fit for purpose, cost effective.
* provide overall site management, coordination, planning, specification of business proposals and coordination of subcontractors.
* facilitate and collaborate with others on due diligence evaluation of new opportunities.
* ensure that contracted resources deliver work to meet duration and quality targets, addressing and ensuring the correction of under-performance issues.
* audit contractors to check that the skills and competences of contract labor are appropriate to need, and they are fit to undertake the work on which they will be deployed.
* review of designs for conformance to current international design criteria, country and local regulations.
* provide critical review of current design standards to identify value engineering and design enhancement opportunities to be considered by internal engineering and schematic design partners.
* comprehensive budget tracking, forecasting, reporting and management of assigned expansion, remodel, and new build projects.
* responsible for ensuring that all documentation relevant to the construction and commissioning phase is received by the project. This includes, but not limited to o&m manuals, training materials, engineering databases for o&m systems upload, spares lists and spares.
required qualifications
* bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering field or equivalent.
* 10+ years of experience as a director of engineering, chief engineer, project manager, construction manager, facilities manager and other related disciplines.
* experience inclusive of facilities management, building maintenance or similar.
* project management experience from due diligence and design phase through implementation and operation.
* experience negotiating construction, procurement and labor contracts
* management, influence, and communications skills to establish and communicate the systems required for successful execution of the capital expenditures and hotel operations.
* strong leadership skills and the ability to apply them in a dynamic environment.
* communications skills in spanish and english (professional working proficiency).
