a day in the life
this position as senior supplier quality engineer offers an exciting opportunity to work with medtronic's diabetes business and support our supplier change requests (scr) team. Medtronic plans to separate its diabetes division to foster growth and innovation, reallocating resources across the company. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash potential, operate more swiftly, and leverage increased investments to drive innovation and enhance patient care.
responsibilities may include the following, among other duties:
* ensuring suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services.
* qualifying suppliers according to company standards and possibly administering a certified supplier program to ensure cost-effectiveness.
* monitoring parts from acquisition through manufacturing, communicating, and resolving supplier-related issues.
* developing and prioritizing an auditing schedule to ensure suppliers meet gmp and quality standards.
* evaluating supplier performance and providing feedback.
* providing pre-market supplier quality support for new product development, working with component engineering and post-market supplier quality teams to deliver quality, defect prevention, and reliable products.
* offering technical guidance and ensuring compliance throughout the npd lifecycle for newly qualified parts.
* collaborating on product acceptance sampling strategy, approved supplier list, and control plans for new products.
* defining receiving inspection requirements and test method validation for internal testing methods.
technical specialist career stream: an individual contributor role advancing existing technology or introducing new therapies, managing projects, and mentoring colleagues, primarily focusing on r&d from design to implementation.
