core responsibilities
* programming 3-axis and 5-axis cnc machining centers and cnc lathes using mastercam
* developing efficient machining strategies based on technical analysis and blueprint specifications
* running simulations and validations to prevent collisions, dimensional errors, and material waste
* reading technical drawings and applying gd&t (asme y14) standards to ensure dimensional accuracy
* adjusting cutting parameters, speeds, and feeds based on materials and part requirements
* collaborating with manufacturing engineers, quality teams, and machine operators to resolve technical issues
* supporting continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time reduction and process optimization
* documenting processes and generating setup sheets to ensure repeatability and traceability
* ensuring safety and quality standards are met across all machining operations
basic qualifications
* bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
* +4 years of experience in cnc programming within a manufacturing environment
* advanced knowledge of mastercam and experience with cad software (solidworks preferred)
* hands-on experience operating 3-axis/5-axis cnc machines and cnc lathes
* proficient in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (gd&t)
* a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach to technical challenges
* ability to work independently and make data-driven decisions
* strong verbal and written communication skills
* bilingual (english and spanish) preferred for cross-border team coordination

* prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
* expertise in programming for hard-to-machine materials (e.g., stainless steel, titanium)
* familiarity with inspection systems and metrology tools
