About the role the microsoft core infrastructure operations specialist is responsible for the operational management, governance and reliability of the organization’s microsoft 365 platform and selected enterprise saas applications. The role ensures that collaboration, productivity, and integration services operate securely and efficiently through structured processes, lifecycle management, and adherence to security and compliance standards. The position serves as a central operational point of expertise for microsoft 365 services as well as a defined set of smaller saas platforms, ensuring consistent governance, service hygiene, and user support across the application landscape. Responsibilities microsoft 365 operations operate, maintain, and support microsoft 365 services including productivity, collaboration, security, and identity-related components. Conduct incident resolution, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and service optimization activities. Monitor operational health, capacity, and compliance of core services. Saas application portfolio operations manage a portfolio of smaller saas platforms used by business teams, ensuring stable operation, proper configuration, and compliant usage. Oversee user administration, license management, access controls, and lifecycle processes. Maintain governance standards for these platforms, including onboarding, change processes, and vendor coordination. Support integration points between saas tools and microsoft 365 where relevant. Governance, compliance, and security ensure adherence to security, data protection, identity, and compliance requirements across microsoft 365 and saas platforms. Maintain documentation, operational runbooks, and configuration records. Support audit activities, risk reviews, and policy enforcement. Monitor for misconfigurations, policy deviations, and operational risks, escalating when necessary. Operational support & stakeholder collaboration provide 2nd level support for microsoft 365 services and assigned saas applications. Evaluate and handle service requests, balancing business needs with governance requirements. Empower the global service desk to fully provide 1st line support for m365 and selected enterprise saas applications. Change & lifecycle management maintain structured lifecycle processes for tenant configurations, saas platforms, accounts, policies, and integrations. Coordinate with solutions and security teams on changes impacting the environment. Continuous improvement identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, user experience, and service reliability. Contribute to the development of operational best practices, automation, and standardized procedures. Track and report on service metrics, risks, and performance indicators. Qualifications hands-on experience operating and supporting microsoft 365 services in an enterprise environment. Strong understanding of identity, access, security policies, and configuration management within m365. Experience administering saas applications including user provisioning, role models, access controls, and vendor-managed features. Ability to troubleshoot complex service issues involving authentication, integration, or configuration. Experience working within itil (e.g., incident, change, problem management). Ability to maintain clear, structured documentation and operational procedures. Strong communication skills and experience working across it and business teams. Preferred skills powershell or similar scripting capabilities for automation within microsoft 365. Familiarity with integration concepts, api-based authentication, and saas interoperability. Understanding of data governance, compliance, and information security requirements. Experience coordinating with external saas vendors for escalations and platform management.
