This position showcases expertise in entry writing, classification according to harmonized tariff schedules (hts), participation in government agency clearances (pga), code of regulations, and customs regulations.
responsibilities:
* prepare customs entries and forward freight to designated locations, interfacing with international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers.
* follow up on clearance processes for all prepared entries.
* communicate documentation discrepancies to clients and supervisors.
* coordinate freight delivery to designated locations.
* resolve finance and accounting reconciliation exchange issues.
* scan entries into the imaging system meeting time requirements.
* prepare reports/presentations and analysis using various software packages and databases.
* troubleshoot and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers and foreign origins.
* establish and maintain client relationships.
qualifications:
* high school diploma or equivalent.
* minimum 2 years' experience working as a customs broker.
* basic knowledge of customs operations, laws, and regulations, and other government departments.
* proficiency in microsoft office.
* customs broker license preferred.
* accurate and rapid data entry.
* excellent verbal and written communication skills.
