in this role, you are responsible for actively monitoring and flagging qualcomm media and social coverage and identifying and flagging relevant industry discourse across various mediums, while providing strategic recommendations on how qualcomm can effectively engage with these conversations.
your responsibilities will also include producing comprehensive reports around key moments.
*key responsibilities*:
monitor coverage:
- monitor media coverage proactively and reactively for qualcomm and its brands across various mediums, including print, online and social media, while providing real-time updates.
- have a keen eye for emerging issues, significant developments, or potential crises and risks ensuring timely alerts to stakeholders.
- identify and flag industry conversations that are relevant to qualcomm, using advanced monitoring tools.
- provide strategic recommendations on how qualcomm can effectively participate and influence these discussions.
generate reports:
- compile comprehensive reports of news and social conversations around key moments in time.
- analyze the data to provide actionable insights and trends to inform strategic decisions.
- prepare and present findings to internal teams and stakeholders.
data management:
- create and set up advanced search booleans.
- bring insights to the team on current and future news cycles, identifying key trends and patterns by employing media and social monitoring tools, with preference for meltwater, brandwatch, muckrack, tveyes, pendulum, and blackbird.ai.
- analyze the geographical and thematic distribution of news cycles to inform targeted communication strategies.
- use critical thinking to analyze data and derive insights for current and future news cycles.
- develop and maintain data accuracy and integrity across dashboards, reports and visualizations.

this role is officed based in mexico city and will require the ability to travel to the u.s. on a bi-annual basis.
*minimum qualifications*:
- bachelor's degree and 3+ years of communications, marketing, public relations, or related work experience.
or
associate's degree or equivalent degree and 5+ years of communications, marketing, public relations, or related work experience.
or
high school diploma or equivalent and 7+ years of communications, marketing, public relations, or related work experience.
- completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (master's = one year, doctorate = two years) of work experience.
*preferred qualifications*:
- bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration/management, communications, or related field.
- master's degree in marketing, business administration/management, communications, or related field.
- communication skills: advanced communication skills in english.
strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
- project management experience: strong organizational abilities and proficiency in meeting deadlines and driving assignments end to end.
ability to learn and master company project management tools such as adobe workfront or similar.
- analytics: an analytical mindset with the ability to uncover deeper trends and insights.
experience with data analytics and ai tools such as meltwater, brandwatch, muckrack, tveyes, pendulum, blackbird.ai or similar.
- software proficiency: solid powerpoint skills, proficient in microsoft suite (excel, word, outlook, teams).
familiarity with social media platforms.
